Chilliwack RCMP say they are searching for a seven-year-old girl who was reported missing on Thursday.
RCMP say Lily Coursol was last seen around 4 p.m. Thursday in the 50800 block of Winona Road after she apparently followed her neighbour’s dogs into a wooded area and did not return. Police say they are conducting an air and ground search.
Chilliwack RCMP are asking the public to avoid the area of Chilliwack Lake Road to allow emergency responders and investigative teams to operate without interference.
“We understand the public’s concern and wanting to help; however, the search consists of difficult terrain and is a heavily wooded area,” said a Friday morning statement.
“Untrained personnel in the area will make search efforts more difficult and put others at unnecessary risk.”
Police describe the girl as Caucasian and four feet tall, with light brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing pink clothing.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact local police
