All public schools in New Brunswick are closed Monday morning, with the exception of those in the Anglophone South school district.
New Brunswickers woke up to some slippery conditions, and Environment Canada still had freezing rain warnings in place early Monday morning.
The warning said four to eight hours of freezing rain, with totals of five to 10 millimetres, were expected.
It said walkways, highways, roads and parking lot could become icy and slippery.
For areas along the Fundy Coast, a rainfall warning was also in place for Monday into Tuesday afternoon, with 20 to 40 millimetres of rain expected.
According to New Brunswick’s 511, which shows road conditions for provincial routes, travel was not recommended on much of Highway 2 — from the Quebec border to Woodstock.
