A mother accused of causing the death of her nine-year-old son by dangerous driving has appeared in court.
Zac Roe, from Andover in Hampshire, died at the scene of a crash in East Woodyates, north Dorset, on 25 March 2024.
Barbara Roe, 39, of Ludgershall, Wiltshire, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday where she did not enter a plea to the single charge.
The case was sent to Bournemouth Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 6 March and she was released on conditional bail.
Dorset Police were called to the incident on the A354 Salisbury Road, which involved a cattle transporter truck and trailer, a white Ford Transit van and a grey Citroen car.
In a statement released after Zac’s death, his father Josh Roe said: “Words cannot describe the pain I’m feeling, my heart is broken.
“You are my little angel. I love you more than anything in this world, you are my best buddy.”
His grandfather, Chris Roe, said: “You were taken too soon but memories will last us a lifetime. We will never stop loving you.”
